Yeah, I know, rookie mistake but hey, after making changes to /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf, don't forget to restart the iscsid for open iscsi on Linux.
This caught me when I was trying to change the CHAP password. It didn't help that adding '-d 99' to 'iscsiadm -m node -l' seemed to indicate it was picking up the new password.
